Anyone who knows me will vouch for one thing – I cannot and will not give up chocolate. So naturally, I’m always trying to find a healthy alternative to satisfy the urge to pick up a Kit Kat (I know, cringe, right?) I’ve been seeing these around the Internet for ages and also seeing overpriced versions at all sorts of “homemade this and that” stalls so I thought I’d have a go. It took me about 7 minutes to make these and they are absolutely gorgeous – no joke. Have a go yourself, and let me know how you get on. They are great for Ramadan too – chocolate energy balls.
Ingredients:
1/3 cup cashews
1/4 cup almonds
10 pitted dates (any, don’t get caught up in medjool if you haven’t got any)
1 tablespoon linseed
1 teaspoon honey
1 tablespoon desiccated coconut
1 tablespoon cacao powder
A sprinkle of cinnamon
1 tablespoon water
1 teaspoon coconut oil
Method:
Blitz all of it in a food processor.
Roll into balls
Roll in desiccated coconut
Enjoy – store in the fridge
